Controlling your Mac
Assistela can inspect app interfaces, click, type, and use keyboard shortcuts after you grant the required permissions.
What Mac control means
Assistela can work with an app in a human-like way: inspect the interface, find a button or field, click, scroll, drag, type text, and press keys. This is useful when there is no direct API or dedicated integration.
Ordinary Chat does not need this feature. Enable it for a specific task you want to observe on screen.
Required permissions
- Accessibility lets Assistela control buttons, fields, and other interface elements.
- Screen Recording lets it see the screen or a screenshot when the interface structure is not enough.
- Automation may be requested separately for a particular app such as Mail.
Open Assistela → Settings → Permissions and use the button beside the required item. macOS opens System Settings → Privacy & Security. After enabling Accessibility or Screen Recording, quit and reopen Assistela.
How to give a task
Prepare the app
Open the correct document or screen, unlock the Mac, and close unrelated windows containing private information.
State the goal and boundary
For example: “In app X, fill the name and date, but do not submit anything.”
Watch the work
Keep the relevant app visible. If Assistela selects the wrong element, use Stop.
Review the final step
Submit, delete, or make another important change only after reviewing the draft and any approval.
Limits and safety
- An app interface can change after an update, requiring a more precise description.
- A covered window, locked Mac, or system dialog can interrupt work.
- Screen Recording can capture everything currently visible. Close passwords, private messages, and unrelated sensitive documents first.
- Stopping work cannot undo a change already saved, sent, or deleted.
For forms, payments, email, and deletion, ask Assistela to fill or select the required details but stop before final confirmation.
