Help and reporting a bug

Built-in Help quickly explains major features; Report Bug prepares reviewable diagnostic data for support.

When to use Help

Open Help in the sidebar when you need a quick reminder inside the app. It includes short explanations of Chat, Memory, Assistant Database, Personal Assistant, Scheduled Tasks, Home Assistant, AI models, passwords, and payment cards.

This wiki provides detailed steps and safety guidance. Built-in Help is useful for quick orientation without leaving the app.

Before reporting a bug

  1. Try a safe read-only action in the same service, such as loading today’s events without changing them.
  2. Check the AI account, service, and required macOS permission.
  3. Note the exact time, what you did, and what you expected.
  4. If reproducible, write the shortest sequence of steps that causes the problem.

For a model problem, also note the AI account and model. For an automatic feature, include the task name and its expected run time.

Send the report

1

Choose Report Bug in the sidebar.

2

Describe the problem

State what happened, what should have happened, when it occurred, and how to reproduce it. The description can contain up to 8,000 characters.

3

Let Assistela create a fresh diagnostic trace. Before sending, open the data preview and inspect what will be attached.

4

Submit

The report is submitted through Assistela Portal. If sending fails, check sign-in under Settings → Account and the internet connection.

What not to include

Diagnostics can contain sensitive work context

Review it before submission. Never put a password, API key, full card number, CVV, one-time code, or unrelated private content in the description.

A useful report is concrete: “On July 27 at 10:15, I asked Chat for today’s events. The Work account is active, but the app displayed [exact error]. I expected a list from the Work calendar.”
