Finding your way around the app
The sidebar divides Assistela into conversation, automatic features, work tools, overviews, and Settings.
What is in the sidebar
The sidebar is the main way to move around the app. You do not need to learn every section at once.
Chat
The main place for questions, one-time tasks, files, and following work in progress.
Personal Assistant and Scheduled Tasks
Automatic periodic checks and specific instructions run at a chosen time.
Browser, Terminal, and Files
Work areas where you can observe the web, advanced local commands, and stored files.
Assistant Database and Memory
Long-term tabular records and information Assistela remembers about you.
Usage
AI usage, models, limits, and what made up the latest request.
Help and Report Bug
Quick feature explanations and a safe diagnostic bug report.
Settings
AI accounts, phone, services, permissions, backups, and advanced options.
A recommended first path
Start in Chat
Send an ordinary question and verify that the AI account works.
Add one service
Configure Calendar, for example, and try a safe read-only question.
Learn approvals
Before sending, deleting, or another sensitive action, inspect the confirmation card.
Automate later
Enable the Personal Assistant or Scheduled Tasks only after the same task succeeds manually.
How the sections connect
- Chat on Mac, iPhone, and Telegram uses the same continuous conversation.
- The Browser keeps separate work tabs for Chat, Personal Assistant, and Scheduled Tasks so one does not replace another section’s open page.
- Attachments, browser downloads, and generated documents appear under Files.
- A disabled service, missing macOS permission, or disabled tool can prevent an action even when Chat itself works.
Most of the time you will use Chat, Settings, and optionally Files. Terminal, Model Diagnostics, and routing can safely wait.
