More services
Enable Messages, files, the browser, and other optional services only when you want to use them.
Messages
Under Settings → Messages, enable the Apple Messages source. Then grant Messages Automation under Settings → Permissions. Assistela can send an SMS or iMessage after a clear request.
Reading recent SMS/iMessage history uses local Messages data. On most Macs, Assistela also needs Full Disk Access, which you enable manually under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access.
Files and Finder
For ordinary work, give Assistela access to specific files or workspace folders. Enable Finder Automation only when it should control Finder. Full Disk Access is a broader optional permission; do not enable it automatically for chat or a manually selected folder.
Web browser
The controlled browser can open pages, click, and fill forms. Under Settings → Browser, choose the built-in mode or a Chrome/Chromium fallback. Assistela uses a separate profile, not your normal Chrome profile. Keep approvals enabled for sensitive form submissions.
Notifications and Local Network
- Notifications: allow them if Assistela should show alerts on the Mac.
- Local Network: allow it only for features communicating with services on the same network, such as Home Assistant.
- Maps and places: support place search and route estimates when the corresponding tool is enabled.
A safe first test
Test each new service with a read-only request or harmless test item first. Before sending a message, verify the recipient and text; for web work, verify the page address and form content.
